Fire Protection at the department of Earth Science

All employees at the University of Bergen are required to familiarize themselves with the rules and procedures for fire protection. All employees have to evacuate the buildning if you hear the fire alarm and go to our assambly point (see picture underneath)

Main content

    In the case of fire or the fire alarm sounding:

    • ALERT by sounding the fire alarm
    • Call the fire brigade on 110
    • Try to SAVE
    • Try to EXTINGUISH
    • Close doors and windows
    • EVACUATE to the fire assembly point
    • Follow the instructions of the fire safety officer
    • Do not use lifts

    Employees, students and other users should:

    • Familiarise themselves where GEO's assamble poit is for evacuation (see pictur on this page)
    • Familiarise themselves with the location and use of extinguishing equipment
    • Familiarise themselves with the location and use of manual fire alarms
    • Not cover or move fire extinguishing equipment
    • Not place self-closing doors in an open position
    • Not block evacuation routes in the building
    • Report any faults/deficiencies they may discover that could reduce fire safety
