This is an important part of the institute’s research infrastructure. We work with and develop instruments that measure wind, precipitation, CO2, ocean currents, air and water temperature, and isotopes.

Laboratory for Isotope Analysis Here, the ratio between light and heavy water isotope molecules is measured in samples from the ocean, snow, and rainwater collected from around the world. We also conduct dedicated experiments to understand processes in the atmospheric hydrological cycle under controlled conditions.
