This year, both Norway and Denmark introduced new strategies for engaging with Africa, a continent of more than 50 states and 1.4 billion people.

Development aid plays a significant role in Scandinavian–African relations. In 2023, the three countries collectively spent more than 14 billion USD on aid to Africa.

Join us for a discussion with Lise Rakner (UiB), Elling Tjønneland (CMI), Anne Mette Kjær (University of Aarhus) and Jan Pettersson (The Expert Group for Aid Studies) as they compare Scandinavian political approaches to Africa.
