Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is a huge Norwegian-initiated and largely Norwegian-funded funding mechanism (HQ in Oslo) which has been and is funding the development of new vaccines, including several of the corona-vaccines.

During the pandemic they worked on a plan to be ready to develop a new vaccine for a any new agent with pandemic potential within only 100 days. For corona this took approximately 1 year from discovery of the agent to the first vaccines. The idea is to be ready and do this 3-4 times as fast next time.

On this event we will be joined by speaker Kate Kelland, "Chief Scientific Writer" in CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations). She is author of the book Disease X: The 100 Days Mission to End Pandemics described as a "pacy, real-life page-turner". Disease X is the codename given by the World Health Organisation to a pathogen currently unknown to science that could cause havoc to humankind.

There will be time (approx 15 minutes) for Q&A after the presentation.

Warmly welcome!
