The research group for law, society and historical change at the University of Oslo is pleased to inform about a new project hosted by Karnov Forlag. The project aims to publish legal history commentaries in several key areas over time.

The research group member and professor Geir Heivoll (PHS) is the initiator and leader of the project. He is a lawyer and legal historian, and particularly researches issues related to the police, punishment and criminal prosecution. From autumn 2023, he is subject editor for Historical law commentaries in Karnov Forlag and Lovdata Pro.

– In a world where international legal systems and digital solutions increasingly shape the law, it is more important than ever to make arrangements so that users of the law can become familiar with the historical context of the legal sources, Geir Heivoll tells Karnov.

Anyone interested in the project are encouraged to contact Geir Heivoll directly.
