On November 15th, Marius Mikkel Kjølstad successfully defended his doctorate with the thesis "Politisk teleologi" at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen.

The reseach group for legal culture, legal history and comparative law congratulate Marius Mikkel Kjølstad on the successful defence of his dissertation for the PhD degree!
The thesis is titled "Politisk teleologi" [english trans. "Political Teleology"] and investigates which ideas about the purpose of the state were put forward and discussed in Norwegian state thinking in the period approx. 1800–1866.
Opponents were Professor Martin Sunnqvist (Lund University) and Professor Cathrine Holst (University of Oslo), Chair of the committee was Professor Jørn Jacobsen (UiB), and defense supervisor was Pro Dean of Research Research Ragna Aarli.
