Norsk medieforskerlag gives the award for best media studies paper in connection with their conference every other year.

In 2024, the award went to Erik Knudsen's paper Modeling News Recommender Systems’ Conditional Effects on Selective Exposure: Evidence from Two Online Experiments in Journal of Communication (2023). Congratulations!

The jury highlighted Knudsen use of complex methods, and how the work in question has affected how we research and understand digital media. The article has received recognition both within and beyond the field of media studies.
