NORCOWE

GFI is one of the main Research Partners in the Norwegian Center for Environmentally-Friendly Energy research (FME) NORCOWE (Norwegian Center for Offshore Wind Energy) funded by the Norwegian Research Council and industrial partners.

The activities of GFI in NORCOWE are focussed on the experimental characterization of the Marine Atmospheric Boundary Layer (MABL) and the Oceanic Mixed layer (OML) under the aspect of offshore wind installations. In addition the institute is heavily involved in educational activities, as the organization and offering of relevant courses and summer schools.
