GHIG's 6th PhD and staff seminar at Grand Canary “Knowledge translation and exchange: Improving the impact of research through design, funding, implementation and dissemination of research” was successfully completed January 2017.
Invited lecturers were Professor Laurence Moore, Director of the MRC / CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit, University of Glasgow and Professor Daniel Hanss from Department of Social and Cultural Sciences and Social Work at Hochschule Darmstadt – University of Applied Sciences.
The main topics of the seminar were
* Knowledge transfer; researchers’ point of view. The why? What? And how? Of knowledge transfer: knowledge exchange, co-production, transdisciplinary applied research, pathways to impact.
* Expectations of innovation and dissemination for the individual researcher.
* Addressing societal impact in applications for research grants and achieving governmental support for intervention research.
