Research interests: My research is focused around cognitive functioning in patients with psychiatric disorders, especially eating disorders, and the relation between such difficulties and clinical factors. Cognitive functioning in patients with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa was also the topic of my PhD dissertation, which I defended in June 2015. Currently, I am planning a new longitudinal study within this research field, which will also include a cognitive intervention. The aim is that findings from this study will lead to more tailored treatment regimens for patients with eating disorders.

Moreover, I am involved in the Trondheim Early Secure Study (TESS) (PI: Lars Wichstrøm), which is a longitudinal biannual community study that started when the children were 4 years old. Currently, the 6th wave of data collection is being prepared. The TESS is generating new and important knowledge about children’s development, individual differences and risk factors for the development of psychiatric disorders.

I am also generally interested in cognitive functioning in different somatic conditions in both children and adults, and I am presently involved in a follow-up project investigating such difficulties in young adults born preterm with very low birth weight or born small for gestational age at term (PI: Ann-Mari Brubakk, Co-PI: Marit Sæbø Indredavik). Furthermore, I am also involved in a project investigating cognitive and emotional sequelae in pediatric cancer survivors (PI: Trude Reinfjell).
