Cancer Research Award to Rolf Bjerkvig
Professor Rolf Bjerkvig is awarded the King Olav V Cancer Research Award for 2015.

Professor Rolf Bjerkvig from the Department of Biomedicine has received the prestigious award for his long-standing contribution in brain tumor research.
Leading in brain tumor research
Professor Bjervig has built up a large reserch environment both in Bergen and in Luxembourg, and is the leader of The Translational Cancer Research group and The Norlux neuro-oncology group.
In 2014, the research environment was further strengthened with 16 million to form The K.G. Jebsen Centre for Brain Tumor Research. Rolf Bjerkvig is the leader of the centre with around 50 basal researchers being part of the centre.

HM King Harald V will hand out the award on behalf of the Norwegian Cancer Society in Oslo 8 June.
