Francesca Feo, University of Bergen, will present for us today. She will present an article co-authored with professor Ragnhild Muriaas:

How do political elites perceive their peers who are parents? While voter biases against politicians with children are declining, less is known about whether political elites themselves exclude parent-politicians from decision-making processes. This study investigates whether politicians discriminate against their colleagues with young children and whether this bias is gendered. Using an experimental design in an elite survey of Norwegian municipal councilors, we examine whether politicians are less willing to collaborate with parents in high-intensity political settings. The findings contribute to the growing literature on gender, parenthood, and political representation, shedding light on hidden barriers within elite political networks.

The event is in a hybrid format, you are welcome to join us in the Corner room at DIGSSCORE. Lunch is provided on a first-come first-served basis.
