A two-day master class by Owen Griffiths (UCL/Cambridge) and Alex Paseau (Oxford) on their recent book One True Logic (OUP, 2022)
Owen Griffiths and Alex Paseau will present the main ideas from their recent book "One True Logic" in a two day lecture course.
Main content
Is there one correct logic or many? Could a piece of reasoning be valid with respect to one logic but invalid with respect to another, neither of which is privileged over the other? What would this mean for reasoning in everyday life and in scientific inquiry? If only one logic is correct, then what is the one true logic like? Owen Griffiths and Alex Paseau address these and similar questions in their recent book One True Logic. They are going to present the main ideas from the book in a two day lecture course to interested staff and students.
No prior familiarity with the topic required - it's a great opportunity to learn about a hotly debated topic from two internationally leading experts.
