Important information about UiB’s postal services

Main content

  • The Transport and supplies unit distribute mail internally at UiB and are responsible for the flow of mail externally.
  • Forwarding of packages and registered mail is also carried out.

Mail at UiB is picked up and delivered at the individual department’s post station.

According to Norwegian post regulations, the sender is the only one allowed to ask for address changes if the wrong address has been used. For example, if a service parcel has been sent to a street address rather than a post box.

Neither the sender nor the recipient is allowed to change the recipient of a parcel. This means that the transport unit at UiB will not be able to change the address on parcels that ends up at a public post office due to the use of a wrong address. The recipients of these parcels must pick them up themselves.

Here are some examples on how to correctly mark parcels addressed to UiB.

Normal parcels and journals addressed to employees:

“name of the recipient”
Universitetet i Bergen
Eiendomsavdelingen
Postboks 7800
5020 BERGEN

If the parcel is to be registered by one of the “Document Centres”, department/division name should be used as well as the specific “postboks” number for that department / division.

Example:
Universitetet i Bergen
Juridisk fakultet
“name of the recipient”
Postboks 7806
5020 BERGEN

Service parcels, “norgespakke”, parcel in mailbox, and registered parcels should be addressed to the standard UiB mail address:

Universitetet i Bergen
“department / division”
Att: “Name of the recipient”
Postbox 7800
5020 BERGEN

Business parcels door to door, and special delivery should be addressed the following way:

Universitetet i Bergen
Department / Division
Att: “Name of the recipient”
Street address, floor, room number.
Mobile phone
“Post code to the right street address” BERGEN
