Conferences and Other Events
The Division of Communication has prepared a guide showing how to communicate information about events, including communication with the media
Main content
Journalists do not often come to conferences, but when a conference is taking place, they often write articles about the results of research and its problems. Your chances of getting a write-up are greater if you can offer a story exclusively to a chosen editor or journalist in advance.

Our most important advice
- Make contact early. The most important part of media work takes place long before the day of the conference.
- Set aside resources for the media work. It is time-consuming to prepare good-quality media work for a conference, and the people who are successful almost always have their own media officer.
