LingLunch is a series of meetings organized by the Linguistics PhD candidates at LLE, with the goal of providing a platform where colleagues and students can present and discuss work in progress in a supportive, friendly and constructive environment

Main content
In this session, Yanina Prystauka will present:
"Ageing, Fitness and Language." This talk will discuss the "tip-of-the-tongue" phenomenon, which becomes more frequent with age, and it will explore how aerobic fitness may help mitigate word-finding difficulties. Using fMRI data, the study examines brain connectivity changes following a six-month exercise intervention. It also introduces the concept of "brain age"—a measure of biological rather than chronological aging—and its relationship to language comprehension and production.
The next meetings will be on:
- Thursday, April 24th, 13:00-14:00 - Allah Bux Sargana will be presenting "Analyzing Sign Languages through Head Pose Estimation: Bridging Computer Vision and Linguistics".
- Thursday, May 15th, 13:00-14:00
- Thursday, June 12th, 13:00-14:00
Welcome!
