Method development
Main content
The core facility for metabolomics can develop new targeted LC-MS/MS methods for small molecules (<2000 Da). A quantitative targeted method means that a we set up a method to measure specific pre-determined compounds. Typical examples of small molecules includes most drugs, vitamines, hormones and metabolites.
This core facility have special expertise in extremely senstitive, low sample volume, time-series profiles.
Necessary Information for Method Development

What type of sample material will be analyzed?
Available sample volume.
How many samples/projects are relevant, and what is the timeframe?
Useful Information for Method Development
Physical and chemical properties of the substance, including any structural heterogeneity and chemical stability.
Challenges related to sample preparation and chromatography.
Any previous methods used, particularly those based on mass spectrometry
