Speak up!
The “Speak up!” project has two main purposes: research and competence building.
The project aimed to identify and follow up five year olds born in 1998 at risk of developing dyslexia. Children with dyslexia, with or without commonly associated impairments, are at risk of experiencing problems in school as well as in worklife through adolescence and adulthood. Thus, it is important to detect dyslexia as early as possible, in order to offer the most effective intervention. The main focus of the project was on early markers, covering four main areas:
- Early detection
- Brain imaging
- Intervention
- Gender
