Use of scoresheet
The Food Safety Authority issued 15/2-11 a principle statement which is important for you who are doing tumor or vaccine studies. It also applies to other trials.

All lab animal studies on tumor and infections where moderate to severe clinical symptoms or weight loss of more than 10% might be expected, regardless of whether pain medication is used, must use a scoresheet to better monitor and document animal welfare in relation to defined humane endpoints. The scoresheet is to be enclosed to the FOTS application.

The UiB Animal Welfare Body also reqires a schoresheet for all types of trials involving gradual progression of disease in animals, and to evaluate and follow up the animals during the first day after surgery.
