Our Nikon TE2000 inverted microscope equipped for brightfield, phase contrast, Hoffmann modulation contrast, and DIC imaging through glass and plastic. For fluorescence imaging, it is equipped with a mercury arc lamp, and a set of fluorescence filters ranging from UV (e.g., DAPI) to far red (e.g., Cy5). Image detection is performed with a monochrome camera, and a colour camera. The system also comes with a motorized stage.
Responsible contact person is Endy Spriet and Hege A. Dale.
Specifications
CFI Plan Fluor objectives are designed for high transmission from the UV to IR and therefore very good for fluorescence. They have a good flatness of field, but they are not optimal for co-localisation. Our microscope is equipped with objectives that also feature phase contrast. The HMC LWD (Hoffmann modulation contrast long working distance) objectives are designed to increase contrast when imaging through thicker glass or plastic dishes. These objectives are especially usefull when working with multi-well-plates. For high resolution, co-localisation experiments, we have a 60x/1.4 Plan Apo objective available upon request.
