Main content

When reading older literature, it is hard to tell whether references are made to chamomile, to Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis), or to other white "daisies". There is still no doubt that it is an old medicinal plant, even though much of the traditional use has been transferred to balderbrå (Tripleurospermum inodorum) and prestekrage (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum).

Chamomile as a herbal remedy (Flos chamomillae) in the form of dried inflorescences is still available in pharmacies, and is used as a mild wound healing agent, often for sensitive baby skin, but also as a soothing tea.
