The activity trail for children is very popular. The children visit the various stalls where they are given tasks, quizzes and various other activities. After completing the various activities, all the children are awarded a very nice wooden medal as a prize. The children will also be able to explore all the exciting construction machinery on display at the farm building.
At 11:30 a.m., Reidar Digranes, Director of Culture, will open the new shelter that the Friends of the Arboretum have built on a voluntary basis. He will also present this year's culture prize in Ytrebygda in connection with the opening of the event at 12 noon. Throughout the event there will be a varied program with entertainment from the stage at Blondehuset.
New this year is an offer to row Oselvere on the fjord. In collaboration with Hjellestad and Milde Historielag, Grendalaget will have two large rowing boats (six-ring and eight-ring) for visitors to row between Mildevågen and Grøneviken. These are beautiful traditional boats with a long cultural history in Bergen and the surrounding area. Meet up in Mildevågen or Grønevika between 12 and 16 pm.
We have also hired a vintage tour bus that will take you for free between Birkelandsskiftet and Mildevågen between 11 am (first departure from Birkelandsskiftet) and 4:30 pm (last departure from Mildevågen). We want it to be easy to travel by public transport to the Arboretum. Take the light rail or bus, and transfer to the veteran bus (free) or regular bus (53) from Birkelandsskiftet to Mildevågen - the bus stop is just below Fana Folk High School.
Bergen og omland friluftsråd will open the cabin in Sandholna to the public and have activities for children. There are good signs to Sandholna inside the Arboretum, where there are good swimming opportunities and facilities for barbecues. You can also swim and barbecue in Grønevika, where there is also a ramp for wheelchair users.Welcome to the event!
