Hovedinnhold

Different ocean uses, actions, and management decisions reflect different values. They differentially affect the quality and thus shape the kind of oceans surrounding Norway.

  • What do we want and need from our oceans?
  • How do our actions affect these ocean values?
  • How can Norway priotize the ocean that we want?

We invite you to share your opinions! Engage in an interactive survey and a moderated discussion with three panelists representing diverse ecological, socio-economic and cultural values of the ocean during One Ocean Week 2024:

  • Fredrik Myhre, Marine Biologist, Oceans Team Leader at WWF Norway and Founder of Help the Sharks of the Sea
  • Monica R. Langeland, Fisheries Biologist, Fishing Industry Expert and Independent Consultant
  • Hildegunn Foldnes, Fishmonger, Hildegunn på Torget, Slow Food Bergen and International Stock Fish Society

Continue the conversation: Mingle over stockfish tapas delicacies produced by local student chefs. Learn about an initiative led by Slow Food Bergen and the International Stockfish Society to nominate stockfish for UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List!

Our research project Managing Ethical Norwegian Seascape Activities (MENSA), hosted at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (University of Bergen), aims to shape more sustainable and ethical management of Norway's oceans by capturing what kind of ocean Norwegians want.

Share your values and opinions about the ocean with your fellow Norwegians. Join the national conversation!
