The Mainstreaming of the Far Right in Public Debates

Main content
For this DIGSSCORE lunch seminar we are visited by Teresa Völker, PhD Candidate at Berlin Social Science Center, WZB.
The presentation gives a snapshot of her current research on the influence of the far right on political contestation in Germany, examining how and under what conditions far-right actors, ideas and events shaped public debates since the 1990s. The empirical analyses shed light on the dynamics in public debates combining a long-term perspective with in-depth analyses of critical junctures. She uses a novel data sets and draws on a multi-method approach, including automated text analysis, content analysis and network analysis, to analyse the continuity of the far right in public debates and the effect of right-wing and Islamist terrorist attacks.
The event is in a hybrid format, you are welcome to join us for lunch from the Corner room at DIGSSCORE. Food is provided on a first-come first-served basis.
Völker will present on "The Mainstreaming of the Far Right in Public Debates".
