Literature and Information Resources for French Studies

Main content

The library provides access to a large selection of books, dissertations, journal articles and other document types. These can be found by using our search engine Oria. The hit lists contain both printed and electronic material. You can limit the hit list to only full-text documents. It is also important to use other databases to find up-to-date, relevant information. You also get access to all material when you are off campus.

Arrangement of the books at the Arts and Humanities Library

The subject literature is arranged by Dewey number, where each subject is given a numerical code, which determines the book's place on the shelf.

  • French linguistics has Dewey numbers 440 to 449, and is located on the 2nd floor (the book tower).
  • French literature has Dewey numbers 840 to 849, and is located on the 1st floor.
  • French fiction has the location codes S 17 and S 18. Can be found on the 5th floor (the book tower).
  • Older texts with code "H" can be found on the 4th floor (the book tower). Journals must be ordered.
