How can we organize an international conference and at the same time, reduce our climate impact? This became the central question while organising our third edition of the Beyond Oil conference. We are happy to reveal that our 2019 conference halved the emissions of the previous conference in 2017.

The 22-23 October Entro is organizing a seminar on sustainable cities and buidings, and as this is an important issue in relation to renewable energy, we would like to spread the word. The seminar will be held in norwegian. Below is their own description of the seminar

The 14th of May was an evening filled with art and reflection at the Hordaland Art Centre. Postdoctoral researcher Siddharth Sareen invited textile artist Margrethe Brekke Kolstad and Professor of energy policy Benjamin Sovacool to discuss how art and academia can bring energy transition into the public debate.
Last autumn, CET affiliates were invited to participate in a pilot study using the CET Carbon Tracker to register CO2 emissions from their own travels and meeting that they organize. The data from the pilot study has now been collected and analyzed.
We are happy to announce the first round of CET accelerator seed funding for 2019 are granted to CET Affiliates Esmeralda Colombo and William Helland-Hansen.
Tired of hearing about lifestyle and behavioural changes for sustainable energy transitions? Can you think of a better structural solution? What is your idea to transition to a low-carbon energy system while enhancing social equity?
Day Zero is a new initiative held the day before the SDG Bergen conference and is a packed day of workshops relating to the Sustainable Development Goals. CET was well represented with three workshops on topics of accountability, student involvement & perception.
The new interdisciplinary undergraduate course CET201 Sustainable innovation had its inaugural course day last week. Around 25 students found their way to BTO’s innovation hub: Nyskapningsparken for an introduction to the eight-week course.
CET has started a podcast - CET Klimasnakk (english: Climate talks). The first episode is a recording of a public conversation we had at Literaturhuset i Bergen the 13th of November.
