Upload publications in Cristin

You can upload articles, book chapters, books, PhD theses and reports in Cristin. The files are transferred to UiB's open research archive, BORA, to be made openly available.

Scholarly articles (submitted after December 1st 2022) are made available in BORA in accordance with UiB's rights retention policy. Other publications are made available in accordance with the copyright owner and publishers' archiving policies.

How to upload a full-text of an article in Cristin

A new version of Cristin is under development. Currently you can use both the old and the new version. The tutorials below will show you how to upload an article in both the old and new version of Cristin.

Cristin (old version)

  • Log into Cristin: http://cristin.uib.no
  • Register a new article or click on an already registered article.

  • Under the article click on "Deliver full-text document". You will be transferred to a new page.

  • If you see that a full-text has already been uploaded, you do not need to upload a new one.
  • To continue you must accept the terms of use of BORA.
  • Check the button of the article version you want to upload. In general you should upload the author's accepted manuscript (postprint). The published version must only be uploaded if the article is published open access with a Creative Commons license, or you know that the publisher permits self-archiving of the published version.   • Click on "Continue" to upload the article.

  • Click on "Browse" to find the correct document on your computer. 
  • Click "Upload"

  • You will see a confirmation that the document has been submitted.
  • The article is transferred to BORA and is only made openly available in line with publisher's policy or license information. 
  • You can now upload more files, for instance supplementary files.
  • Press "Finish" to return to the main page.

  • Under the heading "Institution archive" click on "Submit full-text document". You will be transferred to a new page.

  • If you see that a full-text has already been uploaded, you do not need to upload a new one.
  • To continue you must accept the terms of use of BORA.
  • Choose the article version you want to upload (choose document type). In general you should upload the author's accepted manuscript (postprint). The published version must only be uploaded if the article is published open access with a Creative Commons license, or you know that the publisher permits self-archiving of the published version.   • Click on "Browse" to find the correct document on your computer.
