In June 2022, geologists from the Department of Earth sciences, associated with the Bergen Offshore Wind Centre, sailed on a scientific cruise to Utsira Nord and Sørlige North Sea II to collect data that will be used to map the sea bottom conditions in the areas opened for offshore energy production.
